FIELD: chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to inorganic chemistry and can be used in paper, paint-and-varnish, food and construction industries. For hydrolysis sulfuric acid processing, extraction of scandium from it is carried out on an extractant consisting of a mixture of Di2EHPA and TBP. Saturated extractant is washed with solution H2SO4 50–200 g/dm3 and H2O2 5–20 g/dm3, re-extraction of scandium with a solution consisting of a mixture of NaOH and Na2CO3. Sulfuric acid is sorbed from scandium extraction raffinate on a low-basic polycondensation anion exchanger. Sulfuric acid is desorbed by water. Titanium is sorbed from quaternary element of sorption of sulfuric acid by low-basic polymerisation anionite. Titanium is desorbed with hydrochloric acid HCl solution 100 g/dm3 to obtain a strippant, which is directed to obtain titanium dioxide by depositing hydrated titanium oxide by adding a strippant while maintaining a constant pH of 4–6 by introducing an aqueous solution of ammonia. Obtained suspension of hydrated titanium oxide is held while stirring. Suspension is filtered. Obtained residue is dried at temperature of 100–120 °C to a constant mass of the precipitate and baked at temperature of 200–900 °C. EFFECT: higher efficiency of processing hydrolytic sulfuric acid with production of highly dispersed nanocrystalline titanium dioxide as product and higher purity of produced products.
