"Students' attitudes types to drug addiction" (by Natalia Malikova) is based on a 1999 study among Ekaterinburg (Urals) university students to test suggested thesis that Russian society is experiencing its edition of 'heroine revolution' involving significant groups of the young. Specifically, lack of effective measures to prevent and counteract the spread of drugs is stated to found pleas for recognizing heterogeneous nature of the issue and for an informed public policy. Patterns of attitudes to drugs are discussed in relation to knowledge about drug related diseases, experiences with drugs, prospects for eventual convalescence, cooperation between students and bodies active in neutralizing and counteracting drug addiction spread.
