The article analyzes the statistics of industrial accidents in Russia and worldwide. The study notes a steady decrease in the total number of occupational injuries in the period from 2010 to 2015. The highest rate of decline in the number of industrial injuries is observed in Russia - in the course of 6 years there has been a reduction by 1.55 times, while the number of fatal cases has also decreased by 1.5 times. Despite the decline in the overall level of occupational injuries, Russia remains a leading country in the relative number of workplace deaths per 100,000 employees. A high proportion of fatal injuries may be caused by concealing minor accidents.
