The technological development of IT solutions in the current economic situation in the financial products industry leads to the emergence of platform services, including financial marketplaces. This new direction is a source for creating a new competitive environment among financial and credit institutions. The purpose of the study is to study the prospects for the development of financial marketplaces within the Russian economic space. The research methods are based on a comparative analysis of traditional options for providing financial services and the use of financial marketplaces, as one of the examples of platform services. The bibliometric method is also used to study the elaboration of the issue within the framework of world practice, as well as in the context of scientific works by domestic authors. The methods of deduction and synthesis were used in the framework of the study to identify and combine the key qualities and properties possessed by the platform solution, a justification of the relevance and expediency of its application is also carried out. As part of the study, a comparative analysis of the capabilities and properties of digital platforms was carried out. An analysis is also being conducted of the potential benefits that can be provided to customers of the platforms as part of their use. Additional consideration is given to the risks associated with the introduction of financial marketplaces, as well as ways to mitigate them. As part of the study's conclusions, significant prospects for financial institutions and their clients are highlighted as part of the transition to a model of interaction through financial marketplaces. In addition, the authors highlight as high prospects for scaling these platforms from the Russian format to the international format due to their entry into the markets of the nearest countries in the foreseeable future. The scientific novelty is due to the low level of elaboration of the topic in scientific papers, as well as the high potential for positive effects, both for financial institutions and for service customers.
