The author analyzes some of Lermontov's poetic prayers and gives a detailed characteristic description of such innovative genre variations as my prayer, and the meta-prayer. The author focuses on the category of reflexivity in the poet's creative work pointing out the interdependence of Lermontov's prayers genre evolution and the tendencies of his spiritual and artistic development.
