The article is devoted to the consideration of one of the classical problems for philosophical reflection - the problem of consciousness. The way of posing the problem of the relation of consciousness and being is actualized by referring to the constitutive aspect of the ontology of consciousness. It makes possible to clarify the attitude of consciousness not to physical space but to the space of experience and understanding that is associated with the concepts of “presence” as a way of human existence and “seeing” consciousness to distinguish and grasp.
