Description

The project is devoted to the search and synthesis of new polymeric chemically stable membranes with high permeability and selectivity toward individual components of molecular mixtures. The main approach to solve the problems will be the use of functionalized calix[4]arenes as carrier molecules. The calix[4]arenes are supramolecular containers, which are widely known as selective receptors and complexing agents. These substances will significantly increase the selectivity and efficiency of the transfer processes. The project involves the investigation of the transport of different metal group cations through calixarene-modified membranes, the obtaining of data about the permeability and selectivity of the diffusers, examination of their morphology, revealing of the relationship between the structure of the applied macrocyclic carriers and the membrane parameters.
